How do I add a friend?
If you are right near your friend, right click their avatar and select "Add Friend".
If you're offline or not near each other, click the Friends button at the bottom right of your screen. A window with both Buddy List & Groups tabs will appear. Select the plus (+) button at the bottom left of the window. You have the option to either type in the resident's name to find your friend, or you can select a Calling Card from your inventory.
How do I talk to my friends?
If you are near your friend, simply write to your friend in the chat box at the bottom of the screen. They will see your messages on screen and be able to respond back.
If you are away from your friend or in a different region and you know they are online (indicated by a green dot next to their name in your friends list) just double click their name or click the IM button (indicated by the two chat bubbles) on the bottom left of the window and you can type a message to them.
How do I delete a friend?
Select their name on your Friends list, and click the minus (-) button on the bottom right of the screen. Confirm you would like to delete their name from your list.
How can I join a group?
If someone asks you to be in a group, you will get a message asking you to join. You can either join or choose not to!
If you want to join a group you know the name of, select the Groups tab in your Friends window. Click plus (+) and use Second Life search to find either the group name, or search various words if you'd like to find a new group to join.
How do I leave a group?
Select the group's name in the Groups tab in your Friends window. Click minus (-) and confirm you would like to leave the group.
Where is my groups tab?
You can find the Groups tab by selecting the Friends button on the bottom right of the screen. A window will pop up with your Buddy List (friends) and Groups. Simple!
How do I find where my friends are?
If your friend happens to be online, you can send them an IM and ask if you can meet up with them. They can either offer you to Teleport to their region, or you can offer a Teleport to them. For you to offer, select their name on the Buddy List, and click the Teleport button. You can specify a message in the window that pops up on your screen. They can either accept or reject.
How can I send a message to everyone in my group?
Select the group you'd like to send a message to. On your Groups tab, select "IM" and enter your message and send. An immediate message will show up in their window.
