Installation Guide

For Windows

The Windows version of OnRez comes with a helpful installation wizard to help you get OnRez up and running on your system as quickly as possible. To get started, you'll need to download the latest version of OnRez from http://viewer.onrez.com/. Be sure to take a moment to check the System Requirements and make sure your system is compatible!

After you download the latest version of OnRez, you'll have a file called "OnRez x.x.x.x.x Setup.exe" (where the x.x.x.x.x is actually the version number). Go ahead and double-click on that file to start the installer. (Note that on Windows Vista, you may be asked whether you want to allow the installer to access your computer; this is because it needs to copy files into your Program Files directory.)

Once the installer is started, just follow the onscreen instructions. You'll be asked what language you'd like to install in, you'll have a chance to agree or disagree with the End-User License Agreement (EULA), and you'll get to specify where on your hard disk to install OnRez. Please be sure to read the EULA and, if you agree to it, click the "I accept the terms in the License Agreement" button; other than that, if you're not sure about something, it's usually fine to accept the default answer.

OnRez will then be installed onto your system. You'll be asked if you'd like to install OnRez now; if you're ready, click "Yes". From here on out, you can run OnRez by double-clicking the icon on your desktop or by selecting it from the Start Menu.

For Mac OS X

The first thing you'll need to do in order to install OnRez on your Macintosh running Mac OS X is to download the latest installation package from http://viewer.onrez.com/. While you're there, be sure to take a moment to make sure that your system meets the OnRez System Requirements. The installation package includes a Universal version of OnRez, so it will work on both G5 and Intel Macs.

After you download the latest version of OnRez, you'll have a file called OnRez_x-x-x-x-x.dmg (where the x-x-x-x-x is actually the version number). This file is a "disc image". Go ahead and double-click on it. This will mount a virtual disc on your desktop containing the installation files, and a Finder window will open showing you the files themselves. The most important file is the one called "OnRez" --this is the program itself. To install OnRez onto your system, either drag the OnRez icon to your Applications folder, or drag it onto the shortcut to the Applications folder that's in the Finder window. Once you've done this, OnRez is installed; you can close the window and drag the virtual disc to the Trash.

From here on out, you can run OnRez by double-clicking the OnRez icon in your Applications folder. You can drag the icon onto the Dock if you'd like a desktop shortcut to the program.
